Lush Favorites!

 Hey everyone,
Today I am going to talk about on of my favourite brands, which is of course Lush! Now for Christmas I got a couple of goodies from Lush that I still haven't tried but will mention in this post. A few of the items here are old favourites so that is why they are almost out or look quite seasoned:) One of the reasons I love supporting the brand is because they do not test on animals. Lush also has natural and vegan products and use many fresh ingredients. Right now I am currently at my cabin in the mountains so that explains the change of scenery. I also find that Lush products smell amazing despite the fact that some have pretty weird ingredients. Okay lets get into the favourites. I grouped the products according to what they are used for i.e. body, hands, shower etc.

                                                                                                     Shower
Here are three of my absolute favourite products for the shower. The Olive Branch
smells amazing and
makes my skin super soft after a shower while most other shower gels
dry my skin out.   I find it  hard to describe the smell but trust me on this one, it smells great!    Okay so this American Cream conditioner is literally heaven. First of all it smells like vanilla and strawberries. This conditioner makes my hair super soft and I have found it does miracles for my split ends. I would not say it's heavy but it works great for an everyday conditioning treatment.  Even after you rinse your hair out and blow-dry it still smells amazing. I would legit call this my holy-grail  everyday conditioner. My  go to holiday shower gel is the Snow Fairy, this is a very well-known product and is worth the hype if you like sweet smells.  This is  a perfect holiday pick me up and  I recommend buying it for the Lush lover in your life. Another scent I would like to mention that is my all time favourite is So White, sadly I  forgot to pick this one up when I was holiday shopping and now it is out at my local lush store ,  but  the apple scent is to die for.
Hands
I have to admit I have a serious addiction to the Lush massage bars. I think I have at least 5 or 6  and the collections is counting. I was only able to bring two out to my cabin since I was limited on space but they are so great! One of my favourite scents in the massage bar is the Each Peach one, and I brought a mini but I have a full size one at home. The Each Peach has a very nice citrus scent. Another honourable mention for massage bars that is not pictured is the strawberry feels forever which smells like strawberries. A really moisturizing hand and body cream is the charity pot, now the smell is okay but it is not my absolute favourite. It has a nice consistency and does not feel too heavy on the skin. Another item pictured is the king of skin bar. Now, the reason it looks really deformed is because I took had it in the car next to the vent while I was driving to my cabin and it melted, but it still works fine. I really enjoy the smell and on the website it says to use it in the shower but I usually just use it as a massage bar. One thing that came in the gift box for christmas was lemony flutter which is a very nice cuticle butter (that rhymed). I find that it really helps hangnails and cuticles and I cannot get over how great it smells. The butter has a really nice texture and is quite light on the skin.

Gift Set: Splash!
This is probable one of the best gift sets I have gotten. Now I haven't tried the soap or the shampoo bar but I can say that they smell wonderful. The gift set includes five products, some of which are quite large in size. The ocean salt is a very refreshing scrub, and is a great body exfoliant. I also find the scrub to smell amazing and it is also a really pretty blue colour. I would recommend using this scrub about 2-3 times a week t most as it is a coarse scrub. Shower jellies are some of my favourite products at lush. I don't know if it's the texture that makes them so enjoyable or if it is the smell because I absolutely love the smell of this whoosh shower jelly. I am very exited to try the shampoo bar and soap because they smell really nice and refreshing. I already talked about the cuticle butter, and it is lovely.

Random Items
Okay I forgot to include these in the photos so I am just including them in this category out of pure laziness;) This Santa's Belly shower jelly smells amazing, I was pleasantly surprised with the smell since it smells exactly like the So White shower gel that is an all time favourite. This year I was really exited to find this Santa Baby lip balm in this packaging. It has a really nice red tint and is quite smooth to put on, and the colour lasts a super long time, I found it quite similar to the it started with a kiss lip tint which is also quite nice. This last product is another one of my all time favourites and is something I use on the daily. The bubblegum lip scrub smells amazing and works wonders for the dead skin on my lips. It is perfect for long, cold Canadian winters. Another thing I forgot to take a picture of but was included in the group photo is the butterbear bath bomb which is a really nice smelling bath treat. First Snow is also a really nice citrus body powder that makes your skin perfumed and sparkly.

Thank you so much for reading, all opinions are my own

Happy Holidays

Hey there,
So recently I have been super busy with Christmas related things, but I do have a very special post for today. I was lucky to be able to spend Christmas with close friends and  family. From face timing family in New Zealand and Toronto to eating a huge turkey dinner, my Christmas was pretty great. I received many wonderful gifts, so thank you everyone:) Okay, now lets get to the beauty stuff. For Christmas I was lucky to get lots of beauty related items. Today I will share my first impressions and opinions on Too-Faced products! I have been wanting to try the brand for a while and I do know why I haven't gotten to it sooner, they have some pretty amazing products.

Too Faced 'Le Grand Chateau' Gift Box
I was so excited to have received this gift. It is absolutely stunning and contains 18 highly pigmented and easily bendable eyeshadows. I also really love the better than sex mascara that came with it, there were no clumps and it added a lot of volume. I found that the mascara pairs very well with the benefit roller lash since I have long straight eyelashes. And can I just say the the packaging is adorable, it looks exactly like a little house. I found that all three eyeshadow  palettes had a different theme. My favourite would probably have to be the light blue coloured package if that makes any sense:) The eyeshadows are very bendable and seem to work for most skin tones. One thing I would say is that there should be more cool tones but otherwise the range was great. I absolutely adore the blush mademoiselle, I found it similar to Benefit's Rockateur, and it looks great on paler skin tones. I would recommend this to any makeup junkie or christmas lover. And sorry for the poor quality swatches, I was pressed for time.

Okay, so now i'm onto the second portion and I will be talking about the Too Faced Love palette. I find the eyeshadow is amazing, they are all super pigmented and have a wide range of colours.  A black eyeliner was also included in the palette and seems to be pretty good, it is creamy and easy to apply.I will definitely be buying more products from Too Faced.

That's all for now, Happy Holidays!

Vegas and November Ipsy Bag

 Hey there
Recently I went on a little getaway for a training camp in Vegas. It was tons of fun and I had many great stories to tell after. Here are some of the little goodies I picked up on my one free shopping day. FWI this post will be replacing my monthly favourites:( But it's also kinda like a double entry so hopefully that makes up for my busy life.
Vegas pics and items below

Here is a beautiful photo of the front entrance of the Wynn

This is a body butter type thing that I absolutely love, I got this when I was looking in the store with a friend and I have to admit it is probably one of the cutest shops ever.

This is my favourite perfume and it has kind of a spicy and sweet smell, there is nothing i can really compare it to, but I really recommend it

Okay I know this bottle has a marijuana plant on it, but this lotion is seriously good. It is perfect for dry skin.

While waiting in line at Ulta and saw this duo, I already have tried this concealer but have never tried the eye bright, I really recommend this because it is perfect for travel.

Here is another picture from the soap shop I went to. Believe it or not those are actually soaps.
Here is my November Ipsy bag. I really feel like the company did and extra great job on this bag, I absolutely loved the smash box mascara and the hand cream.

Ciao for now!

Fall and Life Update!

       GREETINGS!
Fall is one of my favourite seasons because it is a fresh start, school, work, friends. There have been many things going on in my life this fall. Firstly we have had warm weather which is very unusual for Canada. Secondly, we had to say goodbye to two of our close pets due to old age. They will be missed very much. On a happier note we just got two new kittens, and their mama which will be difficult with me being away from them everyday, but they are adorable! Lastly, I have taken on another sport (synchronized swimming)which has been a lot of extra work, but it definitely pays off.

Perfect recipe for fall
-candles
-warm socks
-boots
-fireplace
-cozy blankets
-a good book
-warm drink

Monthly Favourites!

Looks like its that time of the month again;) A favourites post! I know it is pretty late for one of these, but I will still show you guys what I was constantly using in the summer. Many of these products are not new but they are definitely great, worth-while products.

To start out the new year(not really) you always need a good ol' planner. I fell in love with this one when I saw it at the shop. It has a range of cool goodies inside such as stickers, and even a secret code! Definitely a must-have for anyone who loves to plan, or just loves cutesy things.
Brand: ban.dō

above^ Adorable cat face iPhone 6 case
Brand: Talula
above^ This nail polish bonder works miracles! I found my nail polish stayed on for about 5 days which is something to say for me (who is constantly using her hands). Great product and really good price! brand: Quo by Orly
above^ To me this is the holy grail of lip tints. It goes on smooth and the pigment lasts about 4 hours! Sadly I was dumb enough not to get a picture of the actual colour. I looked on the online website and could not find the shade:( It does have a name which is Le Cameron and has dupe in a similar shade which is Fresh Carnal. This is the baby balm lipstick.
Brand: Vincent Longo
above^ Body wash and rollerball perfume
I love these Pacifica products! Tuscan blood orange and indian coconut nectar smell heavenly. My only con is that the perfume scent does not last very long:(
Brand: Pacifica
Above^ This brow pencil is a must have if you have sparse blond brow hairs. This product is a miracle! The best part is that it has a spollie(not sure if I spelled that correctly)  brush on the end to groom and blend the pigment in! I really recommend this product if you have sparse brows or if you need a little pick me up;)
Brand: Anastasia Brow Wiz in soft brown
Last but not least we have one of my favourite mascaras. Everyone was talking about this one, so of course I had to go and pick it up from my local Sephora. This mascara can be whatever you want it to be, if you have thick and short to  long and blonde  this mascaras for you! It looks good on almost everyone. I previously did a first impressions on the roller lash and I find they're real works well with the roller lash also.

My Favourite YA Comedy and Contemporary Reads

Hello,
Its been a while but I thought I could re-enter the world of blogging with a bang! Lately I have been kind of addicted to reading(more than my phone;) Most books I buy are from the Teen or YA section. I have read many books and would consider myself to be very well-read(had to do a pun) on this genre. Now I also have to explain where I have been lately and I actually have no excuse except for laziness. So now to get started!
From Top to Bottom
Mindy Kaling "Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me"? (and other concerns)

I highly enjoyed this book. As a huge Mindy Kaling fan I had very high expectations and this book did not disappoint. It took me into a whole new realm of Mindy and it was just awesome. This is definitely worth reading, re-reading and re-re-reading. It was very funny and I am currently counting down the day until her next book comes out
Rating 5/5

Ann Brashares "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants"
This Novel was great. It was funny and very heartwarming. I would recommend this to anyone who likes girly novels with lots of relatable characters
Rating 4/5

Rainbow Rowell "Eleanor and Park"
Wow. This book was amazing. I would have to say Rowell is one of my very favourite teen authors. This story made me so happy and sad and everything in between. You could say I got "the feels" from this book. Will be reading it again and again.
Rating 5/5

Sophie Kinsella "Finding Audrey"
This book was a very well written light and easy read. I flew through it(took and hour to read). It was very well written and would read it again.
Rating 4/5

Rainbow Rowell "Fangirl"
Yes another Rowell book. This book was just as good as E&P and has a slightly different vibe. This book was a very easy read and had even more relatable characters. This I would say is one of my personal very favourites.
Rating 5/5

Jandy Nelson "I'll Give You the Sun"
This book falls in my personal favourites. It was beautifully written and the metaphors were great. Noah and Jude were some of the best developed characters I have ever read. You worried with them and laughed with them. I recommend this book to literally everyone

Accessories!

Long time no see! Today I am going to show you how to use accessories to their advantage. I think my favourite thing other than makeup and clothes is accessorizing. There are so many possibilities and ideas I thought I would share some combos with you guys. My absolute favourite summer accessory would have to be my circle vintage sunglasses, I just love how retro they are and they fit my face perfectly! Wether I am hangin out with friends or going out I will wear these. I will sometimes even wear them at night(don't judge). Another thing I will often be found wearing are bangle bracelets or just bracelets in general. My favourite brand right nowise Alex and Ani, they make adorable bangle charms and they look really cool stacked together. I sometimes wear earrings but I usually end up forgetting to put them on. Some of my favourites are these cute dog ones that have wagging tails. A necklace can also make or break and outfit you have to know how to wear them according to what outfit you have on. My favourite necklace is a choker that my mom made for me(she is a lamp artist I will link info below) I can wear it with almost anything!
Thanks for reading  :)

Hawaii!! The Big Island experience

Okay the first thing I can say is wow. Hawaii has been so much fun! I have previously been to Kauai(once) Oahu(three times) Maui(Twice) and I am visiting the Big Island right now. Before I came to Hawaii I had already experienced so many cool things on each island. All of the islands were unique in their own ways. When I first arrived on the Big Island I saw a huge hill in the distance. While driving to our place we saw lots of lava and a donkey crossing sign. On our first morning in Hawaii we explored where we were staying (which was the west or the Kohala side of the island in Waikoloa villas) we got to see so many beautiful things right when we stepped
outside such as plumeria trees and some friendly
geckos. The beach that was right near our house
(A'bay short for Anaehoomalu Bay) Was really pretty
It had nice sand and crystal clear waters. I found that
the Big Island had so much diversity on the east side it is lush and rainy and on the west side you will
find dried lava! I had an amazing stay and I recommend
this island for everyone!

Info
Where we stayed: Waikoloa area near a'bay

beaches: Hapuna, A'bay, Kua Bay, Kahaluu

Shopping in Waikoloa> We usually went to the Kings or Queens markets which had lots of chain and local stores. One of my favourite stores in those places was Mary Jane's which was a really cute accessory store. There was also another shopping centre in Waikoloa village too. Hilo had a whole bunch of really cool local shops that were really fun to browse.

Packing for Hawaii!

This spring break I am going to the big island!!! I thought I would share a couple of my favourite packing tips. I have always found that packing all my stuff in a larger suitcase so I can save room for goodies that I get on my trip. Rolling your clothes up into little sausages will help save a lot of room in your suitcase. Even if you are going somewhere warm its always best to pack a warmer outfit. Remember to always pack ahead of time, it saves you time and stress and helps you get out the door quicker if you have an early morning flight. Have a great spring break everyone
