Mug Cakes and a Lazy Day

So today I have been really lazy but at the same time super productive, Is that weird? I haven't really been out of my house other than getting my hair cut but I have baked, cleaned my house, and now I am writing a blog post. And don't you guys love the feel of healthy hair and a clean room?(I don't know who doesn't).  Today I thought it would be cool idea to add in a special twist to my mug cake recipe. And if you frequent my blog you will know that I absolutely love chocolate, I actually think it's an addiction. The recipe and pictures are down below

You will need
- 1/4 Cup of flour
- 3 Tablespoons of milk
-  1/4 Teaspoon of baking powder
- 3 generous spoonfuls of Nutella
 -Chocolate Chips(optional)
-Skor Pieces(optional)
-Chocolate syrup(optional)
- Large Mug

How To
So you guys have probably already heard of mug cakes, if not you have been living under a rock. I actually never tried them until this week, and I was quite surprised that mug cakes could taste so good but would be so easy to make. Like most of my recipes I like to add my own unique twist to original recipes, so stay tuned.
First things first grab your mug and dump in flour, baking powder, nutella, and milk. After you have added those four ingredients, whisk them together until you have a thick cake mix. After you have mixed everything you can add a small handful of score pieces and mix them in. After you have prepped your cake you can put the cake batter into the microwave for 1 1/2 minutes on high. Take your mug out of the microwave and use a spoon to dig out a small well in the centre of the mug cake, fill well with chocolate chips and a small amount of chocolate syrup. After you have filled the well you can put the cake that you dug out back into the well. Allow to cool for about 1 minute, and enjoy your chocolate lava cake!

How to De-Stress and Evening Essentials

Good Evening(or morning where ever you guys are),
I thought it would be a good idea to share some of my tips on how to de-stress and products I use before bed. I always think it's good to develop a bedtime routine because this will help your body relax and you may even find it easier to fall asleep.

Tip 1: Wash your face!
I always love to wash my face with warm water and a gentle skin cleanser and it really helps me relax. And developing a skincare routine  is another way  to maintain healthy skin.

Tip 2: Have a bath
Another thing that I find super relaxing is having a bath. Adding a Lush bath bomb makes your bath fizzy and not to mention smells amazing. A current bath bomb favourite is the butter bear bath bomb from Lush. Baths are not just relaxing but also help you get clean.

Tip 3: Nail and hand care
Painting my nails has always been one of my favourite ways to relax. It sounds weird but I feel like it makes me happy and feels like i've made an accomplishment(not really). My favourite nail and hand care items are the Lemony flutter cuticle butter from Lush and the "I'm kind of a big deal" Trust Fund Beauty nail polish that came in my Ipsy bag.

Tip 4: Plan!
The feeling of being on top of all your tasks and assignments is great. At the end of the day all I want to do is watch an episode of Greys Anatomy or read a book but when I haven't completed a work task or homework I cannot fully enjoy my indulgences. Using a planner is a great way to stay on top of all your assignments. It feels good to have everything written down so I can go to sleep knowing that I have everything under control.

I think moisturizing your skin is really important. I have really dry skin so it is important that I have a good body lotion on hand. My favourite is the charity pot hand and body lotion from Lush because it hydrates my skin and is not too heavy.

The same goes for your lips, dry and cracked lips are unattractive and painful. I recommend using a heavy, hydrating lip balm so you can wake up with soft lips. My favourite balm is the Surfers Salve from Island Soap and Candlework's which I purchased from the island of Kauai.

Tip 5: Read a good book
I absolutely love to read. I don't think this generation  reads enough, sometimes you just need to take your eyes away from your phone for a minute and slip into a great book. If you read my blog often you will know that I love to read memoirs from my favourite comedians. Right now, I am reading Yes Please by Amy Poehler which is such a great book!

Hope these tips will help you relax!

Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Eyeshadow Palette!

Today I thought I would do a review on the new Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons eye palette. I was SO exited when this came in the mail. It literally seemed like 2 days turned to two years when I was waiting for this since there was such a big hype on the web. As I have mentioned before, I really love Too Faced eyeshadow palettes. This eyeshadow collection is so amazing and the packaging is adorable. There are a wide range of matte and shimmer shades, so you an create both natural and super crazy eyeshadow looks. I really like to use this palette for creating unique eyeshadow looks. As for quality, the eyeshadows have stayed on almost all day with a good primer. Another really cool feature that all the chocolate eye palettes have is the chocolate smell, this palette does not only look amazing but it smells amazing too. I also really liked that they included a guide because I love to re-create the tutorials. I love all the shades but my favourites are; almond truffle, bordeaux, totally fetch(mean girls reference anyone?), and pecan praline. My go-to everyday eye look is applying almond truffle to my whole eyelid  then taking bordeaux in my crease and finishing off with satin sheets in my inner corner. I thought I would include some swatches to help you guys get an idea of what the shades look like(I am really bad at watching).  That's all for now:)

Valentine's Day Brownies!

So today I have decided to create a Valentine's Day recipe, that tastes great.  The reason I called them "Valentine's'' brownies is because I love to eat chocolate on V-Day, and I put candy hearts on them, so I just used this as an excuse to make brownies. To be honest, I only like Valentine's Day because of chocolate so this post is very chocolate-y. These brownies worked out great and were pretty easy to make. I actually improvised most of the ingredients, so the recipe will be unique!

Beforehand: Preheat oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit and grease an eight by eight inch pan

You will need
- 1/2 cup of flour
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1/3 cup of melted butter
-  two medium sized eggs
- 1/4 cup of rich cocoa powder
- Two generous spoonfuls of heated Nutella

So to make the brownies you will combine the flour, sugar, and cocoa powder in a medium mixing bowl. Set the mixing bowl aside and combine the melted butter, eggs, and nutella in another mixing bowl. Once you have done the mixing you will combine the wet and dry ingredients to make chocolate-y goodness. I put mine in the oven for 25 minutes and they were perfect, if your oven heats faster put in for 20 minutes, if it usually takes longer to bake stuff put brownies in for 25 minutes. After you have impatiently checked the oven over and over again and the timer has finally started beeping, wait fifteen minutes for them to cool. After you have waited cut your brownies into 12-16 squares depending on how many brownies you are going to share(like you'll share any). After you have done that you can take the squares out. I put a layer of Nutella in between to brownies to make a little sandwich, but it is totally up to you.

January Favourites and Valentines Day Products!

Today I thought I would do a favourites post since these are my favourite posts. I am currently at home in bed with a sick stomach so I was able to sneak in a couple posts when I wasn't sleeping. This January has been a pretty good month for me, but I haven't gotten much down time, so i'm looking forward to our next Hawaii trip. I picked out some of my absolute favourite items I have been loving this month. With Valentine's day fast approaching I decided to make a theme out of this. Anyways, lets get started!

Lush The Comforter Bubble Bar
So lately I have been having more baths, I find that I go through phases where I bathe a lot or shower a lot. And you guys know how much I love Lush so I had to pick up a few things. This bubble bar is one of my all time Lush favourites because it smells wonderful and is super relaxing. I pop this into my bath and watch the bubbles appear, perfect for a cold winter night.

Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar

Here is another one of the Lush goodies I picked up. I love this bubble bar because it produces really nice bubbles and the colour is so pretty.

The Kiss Lip Scrub and Lip Gloss
I have to say I was a little too exited about these two new Valentine's products. I love Lush lip scrubs and this one smells(and tastes) amazing! The smell is hard to describe but I highly recommend both. I also really love the packaging for the lip tint because it is easy to apply and super portable,

Still Countless Colour Pigments
To be honest I hadn't used this in a while but lately I have been loving it! You can use this as an eyeshadow or a blush, but I much prefer using this as a blush because I don't like this colour of pink o my eyes. It has great colour payoff and is perfect for Valentine's Day.

Lush Strawberry Massage Bar
I mentioned in an earlier post that Lush massage bars are on of my favourite things. This is one of my favourite bars because it smells amazing and the look of it is adorable.

Lush Lullaby Shampoo Bar
I absolutely love this shampoo bar! I received the seanik shampoo bar in a gift box and really liked it. I actually didn't think I would like shampoo bars but boy was I wrong. I find that the shampoo bars lather really well and are fairly easy to rinse out. I highly recommend any Lush shampoo bar.

Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Palette
This is one of my favourite eyeshadow palettes! I was so exited when it came in the mail because Too Faced is my favourite eyeshadow brand! These eyeshadows come in so many great colours and are quite pigmented. I find that they are relatively easy to blend and the shades are flattering for any skin tone or eye colour. Of course you can't go wrong with the chocolate-y smell either.

 Book and TV Favourites
Grey's Anatomy
Okay so I wasn't exactly planning on getting hooked on any tv shows but when me and a few friends were looking through Netflix one of them recommended this! After the first episode I was hooked. I find it is a really great TV show and of course some of it is not realistic but the characters are so loveable! WARNING: If you do not have time I do not reccomend watching this show, it is highly addicting and you will cry a LOT!

Book: Why Not Me? Mindy Kaling
I am a huge Mindy fan! I was so exited when her new book came out because I enjoyed her previous book so much. I find that Mindy is super relatable and her essays are hilarious.
